"The Fredonia-Hamburg Teacher Education Program was cooperatively developed by SUNY Fredonia & The Hamburg Central School System. Some of the innovative qualities of this program are:
- It is performance-based (specifying skills & criteria of their evaluation)
- Three classroom experiences at different grade levels from September to May.
- Integration of theory (derived from Methods Courses taught on site) & practice.
- Extended knowledge of school curriculum & procedures (ex. First Day of School, Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Setting up the classroom for the first day ... etc.)
- Emphasis on team-teaching
- Prolonged interaction with a large number of children, other candidates, professional staff and college staff at a professional and social level.
- Experience with Student Support Center (pupil evaluation team for individualizing instruction)
- Changing program that demands candidate flexibility and adaptability."
